Julia Thouin, MSW LICSW

I’m the founder of BE. Behavioral Health Care, which I opened initially as a solo private practice in March of 2023 after several years working as an outpatient clinician in a community mental health setting. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Westfield State University in 2015 and a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2017. Along the way, I’ve worked with children and families, as well as individuals recovering from traumatic and acquired brain injuries in a neuro-rehabilitation setting.
Becoming a therapist has been a lifelong goal of mine, dating back to a high school psychology class, personal challenges (we all have them) and a curiosity about people and their stories. I’m especially drawn to working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, life transitions, work stress, family-of-origin and attachment concerns, relationship challenges, and those moments when life feels heavy, confusing, or overwhelming.
I aim to create a supportive, thoughtful space where you can explore who you are, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and move toward change at a pace that feels right for you. My approach is eclectic and trauma-informed, grounded in attachment theory and a strengths-based lens, and attentive to each individual’s needs.
I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with their inner strength and personal power, even in the face of past or present challenges. If any part of this resonates with you, I would be honored to hear your story and support you as you work toward who you want to be.
